Thanks! ![]() It feels like my family and I are starting our own little signing service here in Oregon...we haven't REALLY taken that step, but we have gotten three notaries trained, commissioned, and their first loan signings done in just the past month! We all struggled over what the best way to get trained as the best notaries we could be, at the beginning of this journey. Today I want to talk about where to get the best Oregon notary training, for the best price! Notary.net Oregon Specific TrainingNotary.net is a website that I have heard about recently, but it didn't come up as an option when I was first searching for options on how to get my required training done. I've heard really good things about notary.net since completing my commission, and I plan on using them for my renewal training when the time comes due. Do you want to learn about how to earn $75-$200 per signing as a notary loan signing agent? Click here now! Their training process is the same as all of the other online notary training methods I've pursued; they have videos teaching you how to do notarizations in the state, so that you make sure you're following the local laws. After you've watched the videos you can access the State of Oregon's online exam to make sure you're practiced in the notary requirements before they issue the commission. You can learn more about Oregon Notary Training from notary.net by clicking here. This site shows current pricing for the course and lets you register and start the course immediately. National Notary AssociationThe NNA is one of the industry standards for providing qualified notary training online, but it might not be right for you. I took the NNA's Oregon specific training before I took my exam with the state of Oregon... but the first time I took the exam I failed! Notary work was brand new to me, and it was kind of confusing figuring out all of the requirements for the different notary certificates and I'm sure that came into play. The format of this course was the same as mentioned above. The NNA's video/coursework was really specific to notarizing in the workplace, as if you were hired by an organization to do routine notarizations as part of their daily business. Some of that was useful, but since I'm intending to be a notary loan signing agent, some of the information wasn't really applicable. There was a lot of good information about what you're NOT allowed to do as a notary, and where you might find some ethical problems if you're not careful, when notarizing for people that you have a relationship with. Here is the information about the NNA's Oregon required training, including the current price, and how to access the training right away. Oregon Secretary of StateThe last option that I'm going to discuss is Oregon notary training that is provided directly from the secretary of state. The commission is issued by the Oregon secretary of state, and you have to apply through their department to actually get the certificate. Me, my husband and my aunt have all taken this training, and we each think that ouf of all of the options we've done so far.. this is the BEST in terms of the Oregon specific information we've gotten. The course is also presented in the same format, video lessons and it also has quizzes throughout the lessons to make sure you've actually learned the information. One thing that I didn't like about the Oregon Secretary of State course, it is kind of clunky feeling, and not modern. The video isn't great and the robot voice reading the information is hard to follow at times. But... the price for this course is the best... FREE! You can find the course work by following this link. Once you've completed the course, you can take the exam on the same website and after you pass, you just need to wait for an email from the state with your commission information, and you can get your stamp ordered. Which One Should You Choose? So I've given a few different options for how you can complete your Oregon notary training requirements. All of these options are good, and I would really suggest them to different people for different reasons.
I don't have a lot of experience to go on for notary.net but I hope to be able to update you with more information in the future, after I take their training ad have more to report. Their reputation is great and I can't wait to tell you about the training. This would be a fantastic option for someone who doesn't have training provided by the state, and didn't feel like they are a bit confused after taking the NNA's training course. The National Notary Association's state specific training fell short in my opinion. I would say to save your money, UNLESS your state doesn't have a great training program like Oregon does. In most cases I'd recommend the training hosted by the Oregon Secretary of State, if you plan to be a loan signing agent here in Oregon. The content they provide and at the price they charge is the best combination at this time. Regardless of which notary training you take, I absolutely must recommend that you take the Loan Signing System course if you want to earn a lot more money doing notary work. You can find my review of the course by clicking right here. Let me know what training you took, and how prepared you felt for your first signing! Comments are closed.
