My Signing Agent Income GoalsSo, if you've watched my other videos or read my other articles, you should know that I have a very specific monthly income that I've decided to try to earn as a notary, and that goal is about $1000 per month. Most of you should also already know that my husband and I are doing this business together, and it seemed like a reasonable goal for us, starting a new business, so I'm excited to tell you exactly what happened this last month. So, for me, I count this as a partial month. Although I had a couple of signings at the beginning of January, I was really stuck waiting for that background check to come in. So between those two signings, all the way up until January 20th, I had no more signings, because I was just waiting and waiting for that background check. More Signing Offers Than I Can Handle!o January 20th came, and I started getting lots of offers, and lots of signings. For the month of January I completed a total of 10 signings... 10! I'm so excited! 10 signings! I was so excited to get my first one, and then.... 10 signings, I'm really proud of myself. With those 10 signings I ended up making $565... which is awesome! Doing a brand new business, being able to make over $500 in my very first month is really exciting. My husband who has also been doing this with me... He completed 6 signings and his grand total was $585. So yes, you read that right, I completed 10, he completed 6, I made $565 and he made $585. What, He Made MORE with Less Signings?Ok so lets talk a little bit about that. My husband and I have had a little bit of a different strategy approaching how we are going to start this business, as well as a couple of different factors in what was available for us. For my husband, his background check came in way faster than mine did. He was able to take signings starting in the very beginning of January, and because of that, and because of his fulltime job, he isn't always available. He was just a little bit more picky in the jobs that he took, because he had to be. He couldn't take jobs in the day, and he couldn't take jobs in the early afternoon. It just kind of worked out that most of his signings came through SnapDocs, and they paid well. They paid a lot a lot better than my signings were paying! His average signings were somewhere between $100-$135, is what he got paid for most of his signings. Yes, he made more money than me. For me, my SnapDocs, even at the January 20th point, I was able to submit my background check to NotaryGo and some other services, but with SnapDocs, they were really slow with updating my background check. So I just wasn't able to accept offers with them. So I didn't even have that option of trying to take higher paying signings, so I just took whatever I got. A lot of those jobs ended up being from NotaryGo, and a lot of them just ended up being lower pay. A lot of those jobs started at $60. The signing that I got paid the most for was only $80. So you can see of course, although I got 10 signings in, when you're getting paid a lot less, of course he's going to make more money that me. Loan Signing Experience is ValuableBut it didn't really bother me, as I said in my NotaryGo review video I'm super excited to be getting the experience. In these 10 signings I have learned SO much. I have gone from being super nervous when I got documents in, and not really sure about the printing.. But now I feel very confident with getting that done, I have also seen most of these documents before. Also when I'm sitting down with the signers, it's not taking me as long to go through the package. I feel confident about what I'm doing and I'm just learning SO much! Not only that, it's fun to do this as a team with my husband, because when I make a mistake, he learns from it. When he makes a mistake, I learn from it. For example the other night, he had a signing, and when he got home and was checking over it, he realized that the signer had accidently put the wrong date, and he just didn't' catch it at the table. he had to go back the next day and get those resigned. So now for me, I realize I really need to check the signatures and dates. It's been really fun for us to learn together. Grand Totals for JanuarySo the grand totals for our little family for the month of January. Between the two of we got 16 signings and our total earnings were $1150! Yeah!! We made our goal, we made over $1K in our first month.
Of course we're not really in the green yet, we're still paying back all of the material it took to start the business, we're paying for the courses, the printer, the scanner, and everything else we bought to get this business started. It's still really awesome, and exciting and really happy to be here with you guys and sharing with you as we go, and I'm super excited to be able to give you an update at the end of February, so I can tell you what we made in a WHOLE month of earning.
